The Canadian Environment Agency has issued a warning of rainfall ranging from 40 to 50 mm on the west coast on Saturday morning.
The agency warned that the communities of Qualicum Beach and Fanny Bay on Vancouver Island can expect heavy rain that may cause flash floods.
The Canadian Environment also said that the same Pacific system is expected to cause rainfall on Saturday in the north along the Sea to Sky Highway and around Whistler, and the rain is expected to turn into snow.
Total snowfall could reach about 15 cm in Whistler and more than 20 cm along some stretches of the "Sea to Sky Highway," and the system is likely to pass over the area early Saturday morning, according to the forecasts.
