The Canadian environment issued a warning for severe thunderstorms affecting the cities of Ottawa and Gatineau, starting this Wednesday evening, amid forecasts of heavy rainfall and strong winds that may reach speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour.
According to the meteorological agency, the storms may be accompanied by heavy rain and localized hail, increasing the risk of flash floods and water accumulation in low-lying areas.
The agency clarified in its statement that the storm is forming along a cold front moving eastward across the region, suggesting that the instability may continue into the early hours of the night.
