Riyadh – Arab Canada News
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recorded the highest temperatures in the world over the past 24 hours, according to astronomer Dr. Khalid Al-Zaqaq.
Al-Zaqaq explained, in a statement reported by local media, that the measurements were taken in the shade and according to internationally recognized climate standards, which gives the results high reliability.
Although Al-Zaqaq did not specify the exact temperature recorded, meteorological data indicates a severe heatwave that has swept across vast areas of central and eastern Saudi Arabia, with official warnings against direct sun exposure and necessary precautionary measures.
Saudi Arabia has been experiencing a notable rise in temperatures for several days with the beginning of summer, amid predictions for the heatwave to continue in the coming days.
