A senior official in the Toronto Police Department in Canada made a strange proposal, which involves asking residents to place their car key on the front doorstep and surrender to thefts.
The Toronto Police Department announced in a statement that "the officer suggested that people leave their car keys in a box or small bag at the front door."
The department said: "Despite the officer's good intentions, there are other ways to prevent home break-ins motivated by car theft."
Canadian sources explained that the Canadian officer urges this to prevent home break-ins and avoid accidents and injuries.
