Toronto Police continue their investigation into a deadly stabbing incident that occurred in the North York area on Tuesday evening, resulting in the death of a 62-year-old man, while the suspect remains at large.
Authorities reported that officers were called to the scene at the intersection of Jane and Flint streets around 7 PM after receiving reports of a knife attack. Upon arrival, they found the victim seriously injured and he was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The victim was identified as Lawrence Young, a resident of Toronto, and the police issued an arrest warrant for the 33-year-old suspect named Steven Salvador Omania, who is wanted on second-degree murder charges.
The police urged the public to help locate the suspect, noting that he is considered dangerous and should not be approached, and to report immediately if seen or if any information about his whereabouts is known.
This incident is part of a series of violent crimes recently witnessed in the city, raising increasing concern among residents about the level of security and safety in residential neighborhoods.
