Hamilton - Hamilton emergency services announced that a person was killed after a shooting incident on Friday evening inside the Jackson Square shopping center located in the heart of downtown.

Paramedics explained that they were called to the center around 4:30 PM, where they found a victim with serious injuries who did not respond to resuscitation attempts, and their death was pronounced at the scene.

Hamilton police confirmed that they have closed off the area around the center and opened an extensive investigation, noting that the major crimes unit is handling the case, and no suspects have been announced yet.

The police urged any eyewitnesses or individuals with video recordings or relevant information to contact them urgently to assist in the investigation.

The identity of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of their relatives.
