One of the residents of Scarborough, east of Toronto, expressed his shock and fear after being surprised by a strange man entering his home late at night, in an incident that stirred widespread concern in the neighborhood and refocused attention on community security issues.
In an interview with CP24, the homeowner said: “We feel targeted… Seeing a stranger inside your home at night is indescribable, especially when your children are sleeping in the adjacent rooms.”
The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, where family members noticed an unknown person wandering on the ground floor of the house. Immediately, the head of the family confronted the intruder, prompting him to flee before the police arrived.
Toronto Police confirmed that they received a report about the incident and that the investigation is ongoing to identify the suspect and the circumstances of his entry into the house.
No injuries were reported in the incident, but the family confirmed that they are living in a state of anxiety after the event, especially since they feel that the selection of their house was not random.
The police called on the residents of the area to ensure their home entrances are secured, and to immediately report any suspicious activity, affirming that they are intensifying their patrols in the area to reassure the residents.
