The Saudi Royal Court announced today, Saturday, the death of His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed bin Khalid bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, after a long struggle with illness that lasted for years.
The Royal Court statement said:
"His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed bin Khalid bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has passed away to the mercy of Allah Almighty, and the funeral prayer will be held - God willing - tomorrow, Sunday, corresponding to 25/1/1447 AH, after Asr prayer at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh. May Allah envelop him with His vast mercy, forgiveness, and pleasure, and admit him to His spacious gardens. Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return."
Prince Alwaleed had been in a coma for about 19 years following a traffic accident, and since then has remained under medical care, with his health condition attracting wide interest over the past years, amid ongoing prayers for his recovery.
May Allah have mercy on the deceased and grant patience and solace to his family.
