Recent security reports have revealed that a dangerous cybercriminal group is behind a wave of large-scale cyber attacks targeting airlines in Canada and the United States, raising growing concerns about the protection of passenger data and the safety of operational systems.

According to officials and cybersecurity experts, the gang described as "active and highly dangerous" has used sophisticated hacking methods to penetrate internal networks and steal sensitive information.

A report from Resilience Cyber Insurance Solutions indicated that the attacks included targeting reservation data and employee details, in addition to attempts to disrupt the operational systems of major airlines.

Sources confirmed that the cybercriminal gang used malware and social engineering techniques to access the systems, while Canadian and American authorities continue to investigate to determine the extent of the breach and the parties supporting the attacks.

In an official statement, American officials emphasized that these attacks pose a serious threat to national security and the supply chains associated with the aviation industry, calling for enhanced intelligence cooperation between the two countries.

Experts warned that this type of attack could lead to the leakage of sensitive data concerning millions of passengers, in addition to disrupting logistics and travel plans.

Airlines and relevant institutions have been urged to raise their level of vigilance and strengthen electronic protection systems, emphasizing that countering advanced threats requires additional investments in cybersecurity and training employees on best preventive practices.
