In a moment of pride for Qatari diplomacy, His Excellency Dr. Khalid bin Rashid Al-Mansouri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Canada, received the "Inspiring Ambassador" award in Canada for his outstanding efforts in building bridges between Qatar and Canada and his success in representing the State of Qatar with excellence and dignity on various levels.

The award was presented during an official ceremony held at the University of Ottawa, in collaboration with the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Council for Public Diplomacy, in the presence of several Canadian officials and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Canada, alongside representatives from universities and the media. 

This prestigious award is granted in recognition of ambassadors who have had a tangible impact on enhancing bilateral relations, cultural openness, and communication with the Canadian community. His Excellency Ambassador Al-Mansouri was chosen as the winner of the first edition of the "Inspiring Ambassador" award, which is awarded annually to the best ambassador of the year. This award was introduced this year within the framework of the distinguished ambassadors category based on geographical affiliation, which was established in 2018.  

In his first comment on this honor, His Excellency Ambassador Al-Mansouri stated the following: 

"I am honored to receive this award, which represents a recognition of a diplomatic journey based on our values and Qatari identity for me and my colleagues at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Canada. This honor reflects the wise leadership approach of the State of Qatar, led by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the beloved country 'may God protect him', and the Qatari diplomacy that is known for its competence and achievements under the leadership of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, who have granted me the trust and support to continue representing my country in the best way possible. I dedicate this achievement to my beloved country Qatar, and I confirm that this award is a motivation to put in more effort to enhance bilateral relations with Canada and build bridges of cooperation based on respect, openness, and humanity."

He explained that the year 2024 will witness the celebration of the two countries on the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, culminating in the first official visit of His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar to Canada, which was also the first official visit of a leader from a Gulf state to the capital Ottawa. This has elevated the partnership between the two countries to the level of strategic partnership and has laid out a roadmap for developing bilateral relations in various political, security, economic, educational, and health fields. The diplomatic journey led by His Excellency Ambassador Al-Mansouri, is regarded as a true national culmination and openness that reflects Qatar's clear vision and positive message in representing itself globally. It also represents a living testimony to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the beloved country 'may God protect him', and his efforts to establish an active Qatari presence on the international stage, a presence that is not limited to official representation but extends to broader social and cultural spheres, where bridges of friendship are built and respect is created in the memory of peoples.
