The Markham police issued a statement indicating that a woman died after being hit by her own car in an underground parking lot. The incident occurred in the city of Markham on February 23, 2025, where the police received a report of the incident early in the day.

According to preliminary investigations, the car is believed to have moved unexpectedly, leading to it striking the victim. The woman was immediately taken to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries.

According to statements from York Regional Police, the incident happened shortly before 7:30 PM, when the woman was struck by her own car.

Currently, the Major Collisions Unit is investigating to determine the circumstances of the incident precisely, and the identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed.
