This morning, Thursday, Pearson International Airport in Toronto witnessed a shooting incident involving a Peel Regional Police officer, resulting in the injury of an adult outside Terminal 1. The police confirmed that the officer was uninjured, and the incident is considered "isolated" and does not pose a general threat to safety.
The incident occurred around 6:56 AM, with emergency services called to the scene. Despite the paramedics' response, no one was transported to the hospital, and authorities have not confirmed if there were any fatalities.
As a precautionary measure, Ontario police closed the roads leading from Highway 409 to Terminal 1, causing significant traffic congestion. Videos circulating on social media showed a heavy police presence and a buildup of cars near the airport.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and the police have not released further details at this time.
