The social media sites in Jordan witnessed a wave of great sympathy after a photo of the young Jordanian activist Ayman Al-Ali, known by the title "Mr. Jordan," went viral. This came after Al-Ali requested his followers to pray for his swift recovery, as he published a recent photo of himself showing significant changes in his appearance, with a frail body and tired features, which sparked widespread reactions.
In the photo, Al-Ali, who is suffering from cancer, appeared alongside his mother inside one of the Jordanian hospitals while lying on a hospital bed. He wrote a brief caption on the photo saying: "Thank God.. A heartfelt prayer," reflecting his evident health struggles through his low weight and severe swelling in his feet due to the illness.
This photo received significant interaction from the Jordanian public and activists on social media, who expressed their support and solidarity with him through prayers and wishes for a quick recovery.
Ayman Al-Ali had announced his cancer diagnosis last year and previously shared photos with his followers while receiving treatment in the hospital, asking his friends and followers to pray for him to have patience and strength to face this ordeal.
Despite the difficulty of the challenge, Al-Ali showed courage and determination in facing the disease, as he published several pictures of himself smiling during chemotherapy sessions, believing in his will and determination, and he confirmed in previous statements that he faces these challenges with strong faith and patience.
