Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud congratulated Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara on the occasion of his assumption of the presidency of the Syrian Republic, wishing him success and prosperity in achieving the hopes and aspirations of the Syrian people.
The Saudi official news agency "SPA" reported that Prince Mohammed bin Salman received on Sunday, at his office in Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, President Ahmad Al-Shara, President of the Syrian Arab Republic.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in Syria and ways to support its security and stability, as well as the aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries and opportunities to enhance them in various fields, in addition to reviewing regional developments and the efforts being made regarding them.
For his part, President Al-Shara expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Saudi Crown Prince for his "sincere feelings" and for Saudi Arabia's supportive positions towards Syria and its people.
This is Ahmad Al-Shara's first foreign visit since his inauguration as President of Syria.
Previously, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan visited the Syrian capital, Damascus, at the end of January, where he met with President Ahmad Al-Shara, marking the first official visit of a Saudi official to Damascus since the fall of President Bashar al-Assad's regime.
