The Syrian Civil Defense revealed today, Monday, that 14 women and one man were killed, and 15 women were injured during the explosion of a car bomb in the city of Manbij, east of Aleppo.

The Civil Defense stated: "A number of the injured have severe wounds, which may lead to an increase in the death toll, and all of them are agricultural workers."

Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced that a violent explosion shook the city of Manbij in the eastern Aleppo countryside, within areas controlled by the National Army factions.

The observatory mentioned that the cause of the explosion was a car bomb on the main "autostrade" road, resulting in casualties and injuries, while ambulance teams rushed to the site to transport the injured, amidst a state of panic and chaos at the scene of the incident, according to its statement.

The observatory stated that this explosion is the sixth of its kind in areas controlled by government-aligned forces in Syria recently.

It also reported that nine people were killed, including members of the National Army, and 15 others were injured, including civilians and children, due to the explosion of a car bomb near a military site belonging to the factions on Al-Rabita Street in the city of Manbij, east of Aleppo.

The Syrian presidency condemned the explosion in a statement, describing it as a "terrorist" act, affirming its determination to "hold the perpetrators of this attack accountable with the harshest punishments, to serve as a lesson to anyone who dares to compromise the security of Syria or endanger its people."

The city of Manbij is considered a vital economic route linking the city of Aleppo with the eastern and western banks of the Euphrates River, and it is located in the northeastern Aleppo countryside, 80 kilometers from the province and 30 kilometers west of the Euphrates River.

The city is also regarded as the economic lifeline of the region, connecting the city of Aleppo with areas east and west of the Euphrates such as Qamishli, Raqqa, Hasakah, and eastern Deir ez-Zor.
