The Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel-Atty, stated today, Tuesday, that he agreed with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, on joint work for the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip between Israel and Hamas, according to what the Turkish Anadolu Agency published.

The Egyptian official added in a joint press conference with Fidan in the Turkish capital, Ankara: "I discussed with the Turkish Foreign Minister the situation in Gaza, and we agreed on joint efforts to ensure the full implementation of all provisions of the ceasefire agreement," emphasizing the importance of Turkish support for all efforts that will be made in the upcoming period regarding the reconstruction of Gaza.

Abdel-Atty stated that the Turkish humanitarian aid allocated to Gaza is appreciated, announcing that Cairo "intends to hold an international conference in this regard."

A ceasefire agreement and prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas came into effect on January 19 of last year, consisting of three phases, each lasting 45 days, during which negotiations are held to initiate the second and third phases, with mediation from Qatar and Egypt and support from the United States.
