The Toronto Police managed to arrest six men and continue to search for two others, after a victim was kidnapped, assaulted, and left in a remote area with serious injuries during an incident at a karaoke bar.
The police said that officers were called to the area of Midland and Sheppard on July 19 regarding a kidnapping that occurred the day before.
Investigators stated in a press release that the victim was lured to a facility in the area and held against their will for several hours by eight men.
The police also added that during that time, the victim was assaulted and their banking and personal information was stolen, and after money was obtained from the victim's bank accounts, they were dropped off in a remote area and managed to ask for help.
The victim was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and the authorities did not disclose whether the man was one of the six suspects, all of whom are from the Toronto area and knew the victim.
The police have laid 30 charges against them, and they all appeared in a Toronto courtroom last month for bail hearings, the results of which have not been disclosed.
It is noteworthy that investigators in the Major Crimes Unit of Division 42 have released photos of the two fleeing suspects and have asked the public for help in identifying them.
