Six people were taken to the hospital after a pickup truck collided with a TTC bus in North York overnight.
This occurred near Finch Avenue and Yonge Street at around 4:20 a.m.
Eight people were injured, including the drivers and six passengers from the bus.
Toronto paramedics said three of the injured were taken to the trauma center with serious injuries, while three others were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries.
Two other people were injured, but did not need to go to the hospital.
Police said they do not believe any of the injuries are life-threatening.
Police said that after the accident, the driver of the pickup truck fled and was apprehended after a short foot chase.
A man who was on the street and requested to remain anonymous at the time told local media that he came to see what happened after he heard what sounded like an explosion.
He stated, "The bus driver was in shock."
He added, "I saw another woman covered in blood everywhere."
He said he saw an injured person who seemed "out of it" and told him to sit down.
He also said, "The next thing I know, I saw the man running."
The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital after being arrested.
Police have not yet mentioned the charges he may face.
