In light of the escalating Israeli-Lebanese tensions, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati indicated that Israeli statements and diplomatic indicators confirm Israeli stubbornness and refusal of the proposed solutions.

During his meeting with the commander of the international forces operating in southern Lebanon, General Arnaldo Lazaro, the "ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon" and the difficulties faced by UNIFIL in fulfilling its duties were discussed.

In this context, Mikati expressed his appreciation for the hard efforts being made by UNIFIL during this difficult phase, emphasizing the importance of its continued presence in the south without compromising its tasks and rules of engagement, which are carried out in close cooperation with the Lebanese army.

Mikati also condemned the Israeli attacks on UNIFIL and the threats directed at it, appreciating the insistence of Lebanon’s friendly countries on supporting the continued work of UNIFIL in the south.

He confirmed that “the expansion of the Israeli army's aggression into Lebanese areas, its threats to evacuate entire cities and villages, and the renewed targeting of the southern suburbs of Beirut, all these indicators reflect Israel's rejection of efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire, paving the way for the full implementation of Resolution 1701.”

In conclusion, Mikati emphasized Lebanon's constant commitment to international resolutions, considering that Israeli statements and diplomatic indicators confirm Israeli stubbornness in rejecting solutions, which places the international community before its historical and moral responsibilities to stop this ongoing aggression.
