The Muslim World League welcomed the joint statement issued by the leaders of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Canada regarding the escalating situation in Gaza and the West Bank, which included a hint at taking tangible actions, including targeted sanctions, if the Israeli occupation government does not stop its new military operations, the construction of settlements, and continues to impose restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid.
In a statement issued by the General Secretariat of the League, His Excellency the Secretary-General, President of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, praised this ethical and responsible stance, considering it an important and just step that honors the Palestinian people, who have long suffered under the Israeli killing and destruction machine.
Sheikh Al-Issa called on the international community to fulfill its moral and legal responsibilities and to work to intensify international pressure to stop these violations, hold those responsible accountable, and require the occupation government to immediately comply with the decisions of the United Nations and international humanitarian law.
These statements come at a time when the Palestinian territories are witnessing a continuous military escalation by the occupation, amid international warnings of a deterioration in humanitarian conditions, especially in the Gaza Strip, which is suffering from a suffocating siege and a severe shortage of essential materials.
