The Israeli website "i24 News" reported today, Monday, that the Israeli army is considering a plan to allow Syrian citizens from the Druze community to enter Israel for work, in a move that comes amid ongoing discussions regarding the situation in the buffer zone within Syrian territory.
The site quoted sources in the Israeli army as saying that the decision is still under discussion and planning, noting that it comes in response to requests from the Druze in Syria to reunite with their relatives in the occupied Golan Heights, in addition to the fact that Israeli control over the buffer zone inside Syria hinders job opportunities for residents, especially in the agricultural sector.
This development comes amid rapidly changing security and political dynamics in the region, as tensions continue along the Israeli-Syrian border, where Israel seeks to enhance its influence in border areas with Syria through arrangements that include economic and humanitarian aspects.
