Ontario witnessed the return of summer weather today, Sunday, with rising temperatures and abundant sunshine.
Residents of Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, Hamilton, and Durham will wake up to mainly sunny skies, which will persist for most of the day.
In the morning, some areas will be slightly breezy, with wind speeds reaching up to 20 km/h in Mississauga, Brampton, and Durham.
Temperatures are expected to reach 23 degrees Celsius in Mississauga, Brampton, and Durham, while Halton will be warmer at 26 degrees Celsius, and Hamilton will peak at 27 degrees Celsius.
The ultraviolet index will reach a very high level at 10, and Environment Canada advises protecting your skin when the UV index is three or higher, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Additionally, Health Canada stated that if individuals are outdoors, they should seek shade, wear protective clothing and hats, apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, avoid tanning, use UV-protective sunglasses, and stay hydrated throughout the day.
By evening, Mississauga and Brampton will see an increase in cloud cover, becoming clearer by midnight. The weather in Hamilton and Durham will be partly cloudy, while Halton will be partly cloudy.
There is a 30 percent chance of rain in Hamilton and a 40 percent chance in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, and Durham. This change in weather could lead to thunderstorms overnight in all cities.
In the evening, temperatures will drop to 16 degrees Celsius in Mississauga, Brampton, and Halton. Durham will be the coldest at 15 degrees Celsius, while Hamilton will remain the warmest at 19 degrees Celsius.
Temperatures will rise during the day to over 30 degrees Celsius, ranging from 31 degrees Celsius to 33 degrees Celsius between Monday and Saturday, and nighttime temperatures will stay on the warmer side, ranging from 21 degrees Celsius to 22 degrees Celsius.
