Riyadh – Informed sources reported that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host, on Tuesday, a meeting between senior American and Russian officials to discuss a potential agreement to end the war in Ukraine, alongside the preparation for a summit between Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.

According to Axios, this meeting comes as part of steps aimed at improving relations between Washington and Moscow, especially after the phone call that took place last week between the two presidents.

The American delegation is headed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, with participation from National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Middle East envoy Steve Wittekov. From the Russian side, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is expected to attend, although his participation has not been officially confirmed.

In a statement to Fox News, Wittekov confirmed that the American delegation will head to the Kingdom on Sunday evening, while Rubio will arrive on Monday after a visit to Israel. He also stressed that Ukraine will be part of the discussions, asserting that “the issue is not about excluding any party, but about involving everyone.”

This meeting comes as part of intensive diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine and enhance regional stability.
