Toronto, December 8, 2024 – Royal Air Maroc launched, on Sunday, a new direct scheduled flight connecting the Canadian city of Toronto with the Moroccan city of Casablanca. The first flight took off from Toronto Pearson International Airport on Sunday, carrying around 280 passengers. Meanwhile, the first departure from Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca recorded a passenger load of 204, bringing the total number of passengers on the inaugural flights to more than 480.

The new flights are scheduled to operate three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Flights will depart from Casablanca at 16:45 (local time) and arrive in Toronto at 19:25 (local time). The returning flights from Toronto will leave at 21:30 (local time) and arrive in Casablanca at 10:50 (the next day).

This new air route responds to a long-awaited need from the Moroccan community and the African community residing in Canada, and it adds to the historical route between Casablanca and Montreal, which has been operating since 1975. It also enhances Royal Air Maroc's network in the Americas, which includes direct flights from its hub in Casablanca to New York, Washington, Miami, and Sao Paulo, which were resumed on December 7.

This route comes as part of the company's commitments within a development plan signed with the Moroccan government in July 2023, and it plays an important role in boosting tourism to Morocco and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
