The American newspaper "The New York Times" spoke about the growing frustration among tens of thousands of Israelis who were relocated from the Lebanese-Israeli border.

The newspaper pointed out that these people have become "increasingly distressed because of the strikes" carried out by the Islamic resistance in Lebanon since October 8, due to which they were moved from the northern settlements.

The "prolonged distress" and economic repercussions have increased pressure on the "Israeli army" and government "to take stronger steps to end the daily attacks with missiles and shells launched by Hezbollah," and other resistance factions in Lebanon, on Israeli forces and settlements, according to the newspaper.

But the chances of reaching a quick solution "have become faint," according to "The New York Times," since the assassination of the Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, martyr Saleh Al-Arouri, last Tuesday in the southern suburbs of Beirut. Some Israelis expressed fears that Hezbollah, whose Secretary-General pledged revenge, "will intensify its strikes on Israel in response to the assassination."

The newspaper quoted the head of the "Asher" regional council in western Galilee, Moshe Davidovitz, saying that settlers "cannot return to their homes until attacks with guided anti-tank missiles, rockets, and mortar shells cease."
