A 46-year-old woman was killed after being stabbed in a local park in the Chomedey area of Laval on Wednesday night.

The police responded to a call about the incident at around 7:30 PM in Armand Frappier Forest, near Murray Street and 8th Street, and found the victim in the wooded area with serious injuries to the upper body.

The police announced her death at the scene after attempts to perform CPR failed.

With the help of the public, officers were able to quickly arrest a 20-year-old man nearby in connection with this case, and he is expected to be charged in Laval court.

The police said yesterday, Thursday, that the victim and the suspect had no family ties, but it is still unknown whether there was a connection between the couple in any other way.

Reports indicated that the victim may have been chosen at random. She was identified by the media as a real estate agent.
