Ontario County Police announced today, Tuesday, that an investigation is underway after a woman was retrieved from the water and died in Prince Edward County last Saturday.
Police say emergency services were called to Outlet Beach at Sandbanks Provincial Park at around 4:45 PM for reports of an unresponsive person in the water.
A 66-year-old woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead, and police did not specify whether the death is suspicious.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Prince Edward County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
