After nine years of Justin Trudeau's rule, Canadians are suffering, as 42,000 Canadians have died from drug overdoses, while Canada has seen a 166 percent increase in deaths since the formation of the Liberal government.
In British Columbia, where Justin Trudeau conducted his reckless experiment to legalize drugs, there has been an almost 400% increase in deaths from drug overdoses.
Trudeau's experiment to legalize hard drugs has failed miserably, as 2,500 Canadians died of overdoses in the first year of this experiment. Despite this, the Liberals and their partners in the NDP coalition today refuse to rule out the legalization of hard drugs in other Canadian cities.
It is clear that Justin Trudeau has not learned from his mistakes. Last week, the Liberal government rejected the request from the city of Toronto to legalize hard drugs after weeks of pressure from common-sense conservatives.
The Liberal Minister of Mental Health still refuses to acknowledge that their dangerous policy has failed.
Today, Trudeau had the opportunity to tell Canadians that he would not repeat his disastrous legal experiment in other communities, but he refused. He also refuses to end his taxpayer-funded hard drug policy, despite the continued diversion of these drugs to the most vulnerable Canadians.
The Vancouver Police Department stated that about 50 percent of all hydromorphone seizures came from taxpayer-funded hard drugs distributed by Trudeau. This means that these drugs have ended up in the hands of organized crime and are being sold in schoolyards across the country, leading our youth into a cycle of destructive addiction.
Trudeau must accept that his experiments in legalizing taxpayer-funded hard drugs have failed and end these programs now before more lives are lost. Only common-sense conservatives will invest in treatment and bring our loved ones home without drugs.
