The police in Nova Scotia issued a clarification regarding the last known location of a 36-year-old woman and a three-year-old boy who were found dead on Tuesday.

Investigators discovered the woman's body along the waterfront in a community located 120 kilometers northeast of Halifax, and they found the boy's body nearby shortly after.

The police said on Tuesday that it is believed the two were walking and were last seen on Ruth Falls Road around 6 pm on Monday.

But RCMP spokesperson Corporal Guillaume Tremblay said today that Holly Cooper, 36, and Lucas Robert Cooper, three, were last seen at a house on that street, in Ruth Falls, NS.

Tremblay added that the police initially thought the two were on foot when they went missing because investigators found a car known to be used by Cooper.

The police confirmed that there is no criminal suspicion in the deaths, but they released only limited details about how the woman and child died along the waterfront, or how they are related.
