U.S. magazine "Newsweek" considered that the bombing of the settlement of Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan Heights constitutes a dangerous escalation that may push Israel to launch strong and devastating strikes inside Lebanon.

The American magazine reported in a report about Israeli Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Eli Cohen's statement in a social media post after the attack that "Lebanon must burn."

For its part, the American network "ABC News" mentioned that the attack on Majdal Shams is the most impactful against Israel since the fighting broke out with Hezbollah last October, increasing fears of a wider war in the region, which would have a huge impact.

Israeli media reported on Saturday that there were fatalities in Majdal Shams after Hezbollah launched rockets, according to its statement.
The Israeli ambulance service announced that the death toll from the rocket strike on Majdal Shams had risen to 11 and the injured to 24, including 6 in critical condition.

The occupying army stated that analysis of information systems confirms that the rocket was launched at Majdal Shams from the northern part of the town of Shebaa in southern Lebanon and that Hezbollah is behind the launch of the rocket.

For its part, Hezbollah denied its involvement in the attack on Majdal Shams.

The party stated in a statement: "We categorically deny the allegations made by some enemy media and various media platforms about targeting Majdal Shams, and we confirm that we have no connection to the incident whatsoever, and categorically deny all false allegations in this regard," according to BBC News.

The official Lebanese National News Agency quoted the Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri as saying: "The resistance's denial of what happened in Majdal Shams confirms its lack of responsibility and Lebanon's responsibility for what occurred."

Berri added in a call with the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon that "Lebanon and its resistance are committed to the rules of engagement and not targeting civilians."

The Lebanese caretaker government also condemned acts of violence against civilians, calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, according to a statement from the office of Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

Channel 12 Israeli reported that U.S. President Joe Biden is being informed of the event in Majdal Shams, and that the Americans expect an Israeli response within 24 hours in Lebanon, which is expected to be strong, according to a senior American official if it is confirmed that the rocket was launched by Hezbollah.
