Seven people were accused of driving under the influence of alcohol on New Year's Eve in Toronto, according to the police.
Ontario Provincial Police said their officers in Toronto responded to several collision incidents during the night.
Only few details about the accidents have been revealed, although photos posted on social media show an overturned car on its roof in what appears to be a main road, and two other images show vehicles being towed.
The police said that seven drivers were arrested and charged with impaired driving under the influence of alcohol, and their cars were impounded and licenses suspended.
In a final message, the Public Prosecution Office issued a warning stating: "Don’t drink and drive."
OPP had previously said their officers will be out conducting ride checks across the province and urged drivers to drink responsibly.
