Peel Police have identified three individuals found dead inside a house in Brampton that was destroyed by fire earlier this month.
In a statement issued on Friday, the police said that Rajiv Warikoo, 51 years old, Shilpa Kotha, 47 years old, and Maher Warikoo, 16 years old, all lived in the Van Kirk home located in the Driveg Big Sky Way area before the fire.
The fire broke out shortly before 1:30 PM on March 7, and by the time firefighting teams arrived, the flames had engulfed the entire house.
During a search of the property after controlling the fire, investigators found the remains of three individuals.
The Peel Police Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into the fatal fire alongside the Ontario Fire Department.
The police stated in the press release: “The circumstances surrounding the house fire remain the focus of an active investigation.”
