A few days ago, the Israeli arena witnessed the formation of a new government composed of a mix of Israeli right and left after we recently witnessed an unprecedentedly harsh war on the Gaza Strip, which brought with it unprecedented sympathy and solidarity.
From this, we infer that we are on the threshold of new changes in that region, as the Israeli arena is witnessing a politically challenging period. In contrast, this has restored the Palestinian cause to its natural status and made it top the world's concerns again, not only because it is a humanitarian issue as the occupation wants to portray it, but because it is a just cause that touched the human conscience and deeply affected the minds of people.
This, without a doubt, was clear and evident in official positions and popular marches that swept across the globe in solidarity with the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, and in rejection of the unjustified and unprecedented aggressive manner of the occupation's dealing with Palestinian civilians in that besieged area by the occupation and its allies, in a way that contradicts international and humanitarian law, a dark injustice on which intersecting regional and international interests conspired to subjugate it and coerce it to accept an unfair equation.
Also, this leads us to understand the meaning of solidarity and its humanitarian foundations first, to know the motive that made millions around the world stand against injustice, violence, and occupation in general, which contradicts the very foundations of human and legal justice.
Solidarity is the union and rallying around the victim so as not to leave them alone; it is a great humanitarian behavior embodied in alleviating the pains and suffering of people regardless of their religion and culture to embody a unified stance rejecting injustice and supporting justice.
Solidarity knows no borders and does not merely provide assistance to others in need; rather, it derives its principles from humanitarian teachings, pure emotional motives, international charters and laws, and from the inner feeling in every sound human believing that humans are weak creatures who at some stage need the help of others. It is a human value that ensures the stability and progress of societies.
Yes, solidarity is a responsibility that lies on individuals and groups according to their ability, position, and role. Abandoning solidarity with the victim is abandoning the spirit of humanity. Some societies limit their solidarity to those within their circle, while others believe that solidarity should be between them and anyone in need from outside their society, regardless of their religion and political interests, seeking those in need from all over the world to provide them with all they can to help.
Solidarity is also the cornerstone of human society and the driving force of the wheel of history. Bias toward the oppressor and injustice is partisanship that does not necessarily carry a primitive form or rely on blood ties, religious partnership, or cultural unity. Rather, it is an important definition that shows us that even partisanship towards solidarity is a noble aspect that elevates the spirit and moral self, encouraging a person to provide help to others.
Yes, this is what we witnessed recently, a human integration without borders and not confined by culture or religion, so all steps moved forward to show solidarity with the victim and oppressed. It was a beautiful mosaic painting with a purely human identity and a destination of rejecting injustice and violence, regardless of its source.
Here, hope became present, and thus the circles of restrictions loosened, enthusiasm rose, and voices echoed calling out that human life is the most precious thing the earth possesses, and thus justice must be entrenched, protected, and the right path paved for its application instead of dealing with it with destructive duality.
For this reason, we found commendable international steps to stop bloodshed, and we heard loud voices to protect human life. The world's platforms began speaking again about a people whose rights were almost lost because the decision makers leading their cause were a group of opportunistic profiteers who traded the cause for decades, providing neither the cause nor the Palestinian people with the deserved effort, sweat, and belonging, nor a discourse that appeals to minds, making them prey for the occupation to dominate them whenever and however it wanted, in clear and blatant contradiction with all international charters and laws.
This reopened the door for conscious international movements seeking to regulate the political and security relationship in the region and the resulting guarantees to revive the Palestinian cause anew based on the two-state solution.
Here, we can say that calm politics and wise bias towards justice are the two main factors that ended a crazy violence that almost became regional and perhaps global.
This makes us clearly pause before the popular vitality and official cooperation in all countries rejecting injustice and aggression and biased towards justice, which had a profound impact in correcting the course so that it follows its rational path and does not deviate onto the path of madness, violence, and aggression to claim more innocent lives during a fierce, unfair, and unwanted war that could have been avoided if wisdom prevailed and justice was applied.
Indeed, what the Palestinian people suffer from in terms of great pain and wounds, especially in Gaza, definitely needed wisdom, strict steps, and unprecedented popular solidarity to support the convictions of wise politicians after the world passed through an unbalanced crazy political phase that almost toppled all human values and international relations frameworks in favor of extremism, exclusion, and unjust domination. This contributed to creating a deep hostile state that may be difficult to treat and will certainly be a major challenge for future generations.
Thanks to all the brave wise people who took an unprecedented humanitarian and responsible stance to preserve the making of hope that tomorrow will bring better for those peoples and all the peoples of the world after the challenges they faced during the past few years.
