The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau discussed further cooperation between their countries in organizing the second peace summit and the defense support provided to Ukraine.
Zelensky wrote on the social media platform X that the Canadian Prime Minister announced that his country would send the first NASAMS air defense system to Ukraine, adding that it is expected to be received by the end of this year, according to what the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform reported on Monday.
The Ukrainian president also clarified: "I spoke with the Prime Minister of Canada. I am grateful to Justin Trudeau and his team and all participants for successfully hosting the pivotal conference related to the implementation of the fourth point of the peace formula, which was held in Montreal on October 30 and 31. The next step should be to prepare a concluding document - a peace plan - summarizing the outcomes of all pivotal conferences."
