Tel Aviv – Arab Canada News
Hebrew media reported today, Tuesday, that at least 3 soldiers from the Israeli army were killed, and at least 17 others were injured in a complex ambush carried out by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza Strip.
Reports indicated that the incident occurred during a field operation by an Israeli military unit, as part of a ground incursion in an area described by Israeli security institutions as “high threat,” while sources confirmed that the soldiers fell into a trap of explosives and heavy gunfire from multiple directions.
The Israeli military censorship did not disclose the details of the operation, imposing strict media blackout, while the spokesperson for the Israeli army merely said that “the Southern Command is monitoring the event, and the families of the injured will be informed according to the established procedures.”
This development comes amid the ongoing escalation in the Gaza Strip, just days after a fragile ceasefire was reached between Israel and Iran, amidst warnings about the possibility of the confrontation extending to multiple fronts.
