York Police announced their search for a suspect who set a fire in a barbershop in Toronto.

York Police shared a video of the suspect igniting the flames at a barbershop in Richmond Hill earlier this week.

For its part, York Regional Police stated that officers responded to the incident in the Majorg Yonge Street Mackenzie Drive area on May 1 at around 3:45 AM to report a fire.

They added that when emergency teams arrived at the scene, they found that the front window of the shop had been shattered and that flames were raging inside the shop.

They were able to extinguish the fire, and no injuries were reported.

In the video released by investigators last Friday, a suspect was seen wearing dark clothing inside the shop, holding what appeared to be a gas can, before he was seen returning to the shop's front and igniting it.

Suddenly, flames erupted throughout the entire barbershop, with thick smoke obscuring the view of the surveillance camera.

The police also stated in a press release accompanying the video last Friday that investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity, or anyone with video footage documenting any suspicious activity in the area, to contact them.

The police are asking anyone with information related to the fire investigation to contact them at the numbers 1-866- Crime Stoppers or ext. 7241,5423-876
