A man was seriously injured and four others were in critical condition after a shooting late Sunday night in North Etobicoke.
The incident occurred in the Rexdale neighborhood, near Mount Olive Drive and Kipling Avenue.
For their part, Toronto police said they were called to the area just before 11 p.m. in response to a shooting incident.
Police tweeted on the X platform that one of the victims is a man in his fifties.
They added that he was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police also stated that four others, whose ages or genders are currently unknown, were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said a black truck was seen fleeing the scene.
There is a heavy police presence in the area at this time.
Police reported that Mount Olive area is closed in both directions between Kipling and Silverstone Drive while the investigation is ongoing.
