The Brockville police said that a pedestrian died after being hit by a train heading to Toronto.
This happened on Saturday west of Perth Street.
The police said they received a phone call reporting a collision between a train and a pedestrian just after 11 a.m. The incident was confirmed when they arrived at the scene.
Brockville Police said in a press release on Saturday, “Unfortunately, this incident led to a fatality.”
We are currently in the early stages of the investigation and no further information can be disclosed at this time.
One passenger on the train told CTV News Ottawa that she was on train number 63 heading to Toronto from Brockville, Ontario, with her husband.
She added that the train stopped for three hours when the incident occurred.
The passenger noted that police officers were still at the scene when the train departed.
