Ontario police arrest a suspect who attempted to steal a police car and disarm an officer.

Durham Police said that a man suspected of trying to steal a weapon from an officer was arrested.

In a message to X last night, Wednesday, police said the suspect approached the officer on East Victoria Street in Whitby.

They stated that the suspect attempted to "pull" the officer from her cruiser and tried to disarm her.

The suspect then fled the area in his car, but was apprehended a short distance away, and it is unclear what charges he is facing.
