The Canadian city of Vancouver woke up on Sunday morning to a tragic incident that resulted in the death of nine people and left others with varying injuries, following a horrific hit-and-run that targeted crowds participating in the Labo Labo Street Festival celebrating Filipino culture.
According to the police, the incident occurred when a speeding car crashed into the event site, leading to a large number of casualties among the dead and injured. Local authorities and federal officials expressed their deep shock and profound sadness regarding the incident, while Prime Minister Mark Carney quickly offered his condolences to the families of the victims, the Canadian-Filipino community, and all residents of Vancouver.
