The United Nations General Assembly approved today, Monday, the amendment presented by European countries to the American draft resolution regarding the war in Ukraine, during the vote marking three years since the beginning of the conflict.

According to diplomatic sources, the European amendment aims to strengthen calls to end the war through diplomatic solutions, while emphasizing respect for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The United States had previously warned against any amendments that might affect the original text of the resolution, threatening to use its veto power if necessary, but the consensus between European allies and Washington led to the passage of the amendment without major objections.

This decision comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to rally international support to end the war, at a time when Ukraine is experiencing an escalating military conflict, complicating the situation on the ground.
