The Greater Toronto Area is experiencing snowstorms and a severe drop in temperature this week
Temperatures have reached -22 with wind chill as of early Monday, and the cold Arctic air will not stop until next week.

Jill Taylor, a meteorologist, says "this cold polar vortex will stay with us all week" , and Toronto will see temperatures drop to -9 degrees Celsius on Monday, but it will remain colder throughout the day with wind chill reaching -17 degrees Celsius.

Taylor says: "There is a moderate risk of hypothermia and frostbite if you are outside for long periods of time.

On Tuesday, rain is expected with temperatures around -8 degrees Celsius, and temperatures will hover around the -10 degree mark for the rest of the week, with warmer air during the day and feeling cold at night.

Toronto has opened four warming centers that provide places to rest, meals, access to bathrooms, and shelter referrals in emergencies.
