The U.S. Congress has unexpectedly announced its decision to shut down Alhurra, the Arabic-language news platform funded by the U.S. government.
According to informed sources, channel employees were notified of a deadline of up to 30 days before the official shutdown is implemented, without revealing the underlying reasons for this decision or clarifying future plans related to the channel.
It is worth mentioning that Alhurra, which began broadcasting in 2004, played a prominent role in covering news and analyzing U.S. policies directed at the Arab audience. This decision is expected to provoke widespread reactions in media and political circles.
