The police said that a teenager was killed after being shot in Scarborough yesterday, Sunday.

Toronto Police Service continued in a tweet that the shooting occurred in the area of Glendower Circle and Birchmount Road shortly before 2 PM.

The police added that a 16-year-old boy took himself to a local hospital where police found him suffering from gunshot wounds considered life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead later at the hospital.

In an email to media in Toronto yesterday, police spokesperson Cindy Chong said that a fight occurred outside a plaza in the area. Chong stated that two shooters were involved.

Homicide investigators are looking for two suspects, one of whom is described as a Black man wearing a red hat, a red shirt, and shorts. The other is described as a Black man wearing a black jacket.

Chong said that one of the suspects fled the area on foot while the other escaped in a white SUV, and “this is believed to be a targeted incident.”

Investigators are asking any witnesses with information about the incident to call 416-808-4200.
