The Israeli occupation army announced on Wednesday the assassination of Adham Jahhout, one of the officials in the "Golan File" unit, which is considered a branch of Hezbollah in Syria.
In a statement, the army clarified that a warplane targeted the Quneitra area, resulting in the death of Jahhout, who was responsible for transferring intelligence information to Hezbollah regarding operations against Israel in the Golan Heights.
Since the beginning of the conflict in Syria in 2011, Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes targeting positions of the Syrian army, Iranian targets, and others belonging to Hezbollah.
In recent days, Israel has launched strikes on Syrian territory, including targeting a border crossing linking Lebanon to Syria, emphasizing its determination to prevent the transfer of weapons from Syria to Lebanon.
