Brat Saidi, one of the restaurant owners in Quebec:
- My restaurant was subjected to arson on August 31 and September 2
- The police have not yet reached a conclusion in the investigation, and no suspects have been arrested
- Ten difficult days have passed since the attack, and we still have not received any results
A Turkish restaurant in Canada was burned twice by unknown individuals in recent weeks, and its owner expressed his frustration with the slow investigations.
Brat Saidi, one of the owners of the restaurant located in Quebec City, told local media on Saturday that his restaurant was first subjected to arson on August 31, without causing significant damage.
However, the restaurant did not escape the severe damage that rendered it out of service during the second incident when it was set on fire on September 2, according to Saidi.
He explained that the police have not yet reached a conclusion in the investigation launched to identify the perpetrators, as no suspect has been arrested so far.
In a post on his account on the platform "X," on Saturday, Saidi said: "Ten difficult days have passed since the attack. We still have not received any results. We are waiting…".
Saidi expressed his gratitude to the Turkish consulate in Quebec, and to the municipality of Oka in Canada for their support during this ordeal.
The restaurant owner talked about the strong relationship between the restaurant staff and their customers.
In this regard, he said: "We developed good relationships with customers to the point that we often knew what they would order the moment they entered the restaurant."
