The police arrested two individuals in connection with two robberies in Mississauga this week.
The first incident occurred at a jewelry store near Burnhamthorpe Road West and Erin Mills Parkway at around 3:15 PM on Monday.
The police stated that three suspects entered the store with their faces covered and began smashing display cases before fleeing with a quantity of jewelry.
It is alleged that two of the three suspects then proceeded to the jewelry department of a store in the Erin Mills Parkway and Eglinton Avenue West area on Wednesday night.
The police confirmed that the suspects entered the store armed with a hammer and a firearm and proceeded to smash the glass display cases before fleeing the store with a quantity of jewelry.
The authorities noted that the police responded and quickly located the suspects in a stolen vehicle in the City of Toronto.
The police arrested the suspects and they were in possession of stolen property at the time, along with a replica firearm.
Ali Siem Foral, a 19-year-old man from Woodbridge, is charged with seven offenses, including two counts of robbery.
The second suspect, who is a youth, faces the same charges.
They cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
"This investigation is still ongoing, and the police anticipate laying more charges," according to a press release issued on Thursday.
