Toronto – Arab Canada News
The latest forecasts from the Nanos Research Institute indicate that the Liberal Party, led by Mark Carney, is heading towards forming a minority government, just weeks ahead of the polling date in the Canadian federal elections, while many electoral districts remain highly competitive, making the final results uncertain at this moment.
According to the data published today, the Liberal Party enjoys broad enough support to occupy the first position in terms of the number of seats, but it still falls short of the threshold required to form a majority government in the federal parliament.
The survey indicates that a large number of electoral districts, particularly in Ontario and Quebec, are classified as "swing districts," where the margin between the competitors does not exceed the statistical error margin, thus placing significant importance on campaign movements in the upcoming period.
Despite the Liberals' lead, the Conservative Party, led by Pierre Poilievre, still maintains a strong support base, enhancing the likelihood of multiple scenarios ranging from a Liberal minority government to even Conservative, depending on how the results of the competitive districts will unfold.
It is expected that the performance of leaders in the upcoming debates, in addition to developments regarding tariffs with the United States, will play a pivotal role in tipping the scales in favor of one of the parties in the few weeks remaining before voting.
