Hot and humid weather will return to Ottawa this week as students and parents enjoy the last days of summer vacation.

Environment Canada forecasts temperatures will rise above seasonal averages over the weekend, with highs reaching 26 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday, 25 degrees Celsius on Sunday, and up to 28 degrees Celsius next week.

Today’s weather will be mainly cloudy with a 40% chance of rain. The maximum temperature will be 23 degrees Celsius with a humidity index making it feel like 26 degrees Celsius.

It is also expected to be partly cloudy tonight with a 40% chance of rain. The minimum temperature will be 11 degrees Celsius.

Tomorrow, Friday, is expected to be sunny. The maximum temperature will be 26 degrees Celsius.

Saturday will be sunny with a maximum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius.

Sunday’s weather is expected to be mainly cloudy with a maximum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius.

Monday will be a mix of sun and clouds. The maximum temperature will be 27 degrees Celsius.
