The Royal Canadian Mounted Police RCMP said the four adults were found dead on a farm five kilometers northeast of Neudorf in Sask. On Sunday evening, they were all members of the same family.

In an update Tuesday afternoon, the RCMP revealed that the deceased individuals were two adult parents and two of their adult children. The police say at this time the deaths are considered suspicious.

The RCMP added in the update: "We are not providing their names or other identifying information at this time." "Their next of kin have been notified and victim care services provided to them."

The major crimes unit of the Saskatchewan RCMP along with members of the general investigation section remain at the scene to examine, process, and conduct interviews.

The RCMP said the bodies of the deceased were transported to Regina – where autopsies are scheduled for this week.

The update said: "Based on ongoing preliminary investigations, the major crimes unit has no reason to believe there is any danger to the public."

"If this changes, the Saskatchewan RCMP will notify the public immediately."

A resident of nearby Neudorf said the community of about 200 people is in shock.

Mike Ritter told the Canadian press: "It’s really a big event when you see a police car driving through the place."

He added: "The situation is really quiet, and nothing really happens here."

RCMP vehicles were seen at a farm northeast of Neudorf on Tuesday.

According to Melville RCMP, officers were asked to conduct a wellness check on the property shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday.

The RCMP said police discovered the bodies while completing the wellness check.

Melville RCMP first warned residents in the area of increased police presence Monday morning around 10:00 a.m.

Residents were asked to avoid areas where police were present and to follow any directions given by police.

The RCMP said on Monday the deaths are considered suspicious but said there is no imminent public danger at this time.

The RCMP said no additional details can be confirmed at this stage of the investigation, adding that further updates will be provided when possible.

The village of Neudorf in Sask. is located about 143 kilometers northeast of Regina.
